Update - The Pre-Orientation Seminar went well. We may have another seminar for those who couldn't make this one sometime in late August or early September. If you have interest in this, please email us. The more people who email, the more likely it is that we will have one.

We will host a free seminar entitled "Your Massage and Bodywork Career." This pre-orientation seminar is designed for potential MMMS students. The seminar is to meant to be experienced in it's entirety from start to finish. "Your Massage and Bodywork Career" will be held Saturday June 21st at High Mesa Healing Center from 12pm-3pm. It will include lecture, experiential activities (like massage!), and a Q&A session. This free seminar will be a chance for you to ask questions, see the location, and meet the teachers. If you are seriously considering any massage school this seminar will be invaluable as we will go over information about massage as a career, how to best organize and pay for your training, and what is actually entailed in massage training.

There are several things that surprise new massage students, such as:

  • You will be massaging naked people you don't know very well (though they will be draped modestly).
  • Most Massage Therapists cannot work a 40hr work week.
  • Massage is an academically rigorous training.
We don't mean to put these facts out to scare anyone, (because I believe massage is one of the best careers on the planet!) but many people have the idea that a massage career is "easy money," when really, a massage career is much like any other career with some pros and some cons. It is best suited for some, and not for others. In this orientation seminar we will focus on student success and preparing you first and foremost to be successful in your career as a student, which will enable you to become the therapist you most want to be.

Get all your questions answered and see if Mountain Meadow Massage School is a good fit for you on June 21st, 2008 at High Mesa Healing Center. "Your Massage and Bodywork Career" is scheduled from 12pm - 3pm, and time will be available after to ask further questions should you have them. Refreshments will be served. Wear comfortable clothing as we may do some movement exercises.
